iTind

A non-resective treatment that temporarily places a Nitinol stent to open the urethra.

Better urination without an incision!
What is the iTind procedure?

iTind is a state-of-the-art treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) that uses Nitinol, a shape-memory alloy.
It naturally widens the urethra without an incision to improve voiding symptoms,
and is drawing attention as a minimally invasive procedure with fewer side effects and a lighter recovery burden.

The iTind procedure: when is it needed?

It is suitable for patients with early-stage BPH who do not respond to medical (drug) therapy or who find surgery burdensome.
It can be considered when symptoms such as delayed urination, a sensation of incomplete emptying, or a weak urine stream interfere with daily life.

The iTind procedure:
how is it performed?

The iTind procedure uses an endoscope to precisely place a stent in the prostatic urethra and widen the urethra naturally.
The stent is safely removed after 5–7 days, delivering fast recovery and effective improvement in urination at the same time.
It is a distinctive treatment created by advanced technology and the experience of specialist physicians.

How the iTind Procedure Is Performed

  • Illustration of checking the prostate condition
    STEP 01
A cystoscope is inserted through the urethra to check the condition
    of the enlarged prostatic urethra.
  • Illustration of stent placement
    STEP 02
Starting from the bladder neck, the stent is placed at three points
    along the enlarged prostatic urethra.
  • Illustration of stent removal
    STEP 03
The stent is removed after 5–7 days,
and a urinary catheter is usually not needed.

The iTind procedure: is it safe?

iTind is a minimally invasive treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) certified as a New Health Technology by the Ministry of Health and Welfare,
and its safety and efficacy have been recognized through FDA and CE certification.

The iTind procedure:
how is it different from conventional methods?

The iTind procedure, which reduces the side effects and recovery burden of transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP),
is a new alternative for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) that is drawing attention as an incision-free, minimally invasive treatment.
Conventional BPH surgery (TURP)     VS

Goldman's expertise provides clear answers to patients' questions. If your prostate is large or requires resection, also take a look at Aquablation therapy.
  • iTind cost varies with prostate size, procedure extent, tests required, and whether hospitalization is needed.Care may also differ by health status and treatment plan.

Every prostate is different, so no single fixed price applies, but as a rough guide, approx. KRW 5–6 million is what you can expect.

An accurate estimate follows detailed prostate testing and a consultation.

  • Most cases are outpatient, with no hospitalization.
A brief observation period afterward is all you need before going home.

  • The procedure takes about 5–10 minutes under local or regional anesthesia.
The iTind device stays in the urethra for 5–7 days, then passes naturally or is removed by the doctor.

  • iTind widens the urethra, so flow improves gradually and symptoms usually ease within 2–4 weeks.

  • Temporary pain at the site, blood in urine, a residual-urine feeling, or stinging when urinating may occur, but usually clear within days.

  • If symptoms do not improve or recur, other treatments (medication, surgery, etc.) can be considered, and because iTind does not resect prostate tissue, some patients may need a repeat procedure.
